Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy – How can Linda assist you? Linda offers several services using hypnosis such as…
What is Hypnosis? There are many definitions for hypnosis. Generally, however, the “common belief” is that hypnosis is a relaxed state, resembling sleep, in which the subject’s will is by-passed by the suggestions of the hypnotist. In other words, hypnosis would dominate or control the will by suggestion. Most people are used to the image of hypnosis that is portrayed in the movies and on the television. This is a far cry from the actual state of hypnosis. Hypnosis actually has little or nothing to do with passing through a relaxed state, nor does a person’s “will” have anything to do with the process. Most simply put, hypnosis is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility. A simple definition of hypnosis that most researchers agree on is that hypnosis is “The ability to follow suggestion without conscious intent”. The subconscious mind is open to suggestion to create positive change. Hypnosis is a normal state of mind that we all go in and out of many times each day. For example, when daydreaming, you are focused on a particular mental exercise and have blocked off other stimuli around you. Have you ever found yourself engaged by a project that focused all your attention on the task at hand and time seemed to fly by? We often do this while we are driving, zoning out until we reach our destination. Have you ever tried to speak with somebody who was working behind a computer keyboard and you had trouble getting his or her attention? These are natural states of hypnosis. It must be understood very clearly that hypnosis is not something magical and it does not involve you being made to do things against your will. But it does involve a hypnotist, in the role of an instructor, helping you to empower yourself to make certain profound changes. A trained and experienced hypnotherapist can go a long way towards helping you to visualize yourself, for example, as a more confident, happy and healthy individual. In short, helping you be whatever you desire to be! Linda Waymire is a Master Hypnotist with a Doctorate in Hypnosis and a PhD in Alternative Healing. She has been a proponent of hypnotherapy for the past twenty-seven years. Through the use of hypnotherapy she has survived some of life’s greatest challenges. Linda’s specialty is working with actors to enhance performance and levels and increase self-confidence. Over the years she has had countless sessions. It is through hypnosis that she discovered a true passion for entertaining and acting. Linda now gives most of her time to teaching actors not only to act but to also reach a point in their lives that will surpass their expectations. |
